My uncle left no will. He didn't believe in wills. The WTS promised him that the ''new order'' was always around the corner. He passed away after serving Jehovah the Watchtower Society close to 50 years.
Inside the hospital room was his wife(my aunt),three daughters,my disfellowshipped cousin with his girfriend,and the three self-righteous Elders. They told him to please leave the room. My cousin and his girlfriend left the room and waited in the lounge area.
I told him to call security and explain what just happened and see if they could have the Elders leave the room. That was not a Kingdom Hall where the Elders rule. That is a public place and they have no authority over anyone.
He needs to stand up to the Elders in case the same situation arises when his grandmother and aunts are in the hospital. I told him to prepare himself next time and call security on the the Elders and have them escorted out of the room.
My cousin told me that next time he will drag each one by the throat and pound on them. I hope it never comes down to that!

Minimus: If I have read right on JWN,you were a former Elder. How did you act when you were face to face with a disfellowshipped member at a wedding,funeral,restaurant,hospital,or workplace? Did you shake their hand,pat them on the back,talk to them or avoided them at all costs?
I think these Elders (who asked my cousin to leave the room) thought that this was not a congregation matter where he could listen to the prayer . Maybe,these self-righteous Elders thought that their prayer was a private and spiritual matter and that it was no big deal to ask him to leave.

I'm not posting this thread to provoke a desired sentiment towards Elders. There are many wonderful Elders in the congregations. There are many Elders who are bullies,self-righteous,and pompous.

I wasn't in the room to know what happened and why my cousin was asked to leave. I do know that my uncle was counseled many times by the Elders not to have visits in his home by his disfellowshipped grandson. Someone told the Elders about the visits and maybe that had something to do with why he was asked to leave the room.

My uncle was rushed to the hospital last Tuesday with severe stomach pain. (He was diagnosed with colon cancer one year ago. The doctors, family,and my uncle decided against colon surgery. They felt that at the age of 86 he would not survive the surgery.)
The doctors told the family that he had less than two days to live and to call the rest of the family and spend the remaining time with him at the hospital.
The family called my uncle's grandson to inform him that his grandfather had less than two days to live. He was disfellowshipped ten years ago and was treated like a leper since. He really loved his grandfather. This is what happened at the hospital:
My disfellowshipped cousin,his girlfriend and immediate family are all in the hospital room with his grandfather( who is heavily medicated but seems to recognize everyone.) I'm in the lounge area with other family members taking turns visiting. The elevators open and three Elders from his congregation come to visit and spend the remaining moments with my uncle.
The Elders walk in the hospital room and see that my disfellowshipped cousin is in the room and decide not to greet him. They talk to my uncle and the immediate family in the room for over twenty minutes and decide to offer a prayer.
They tell my cousin to please leave the room. His girlfriend says to the Elders,"Why should he leave the room? That's his grandfather." They tell her that this is a ''spiritual matter'' and that he has to leave the room. My cousin walks out and proceeds to tell me what just happened.
I guess the self-righteous Elders felt that if he was in the room the prayer would never be heard by Jehovah or the holy spirit would be blocked! What terrible conduct by the Elders and the WTS!

Dear Self-Righteous Elder,
You came to our congregation unbaptised with lots of fire. You made Elder in less than 3 years. Everyone was amazed how fast you made Eldership. We saw how well-read you were,how well you spoke,how you pioneered ever summer,and how you took the lead in all congregation matters.
Now,we all see that you just became the 800 lbs. gorilla. You rule over all the puppy dog Elders. You put fear into all the congregation members. You have local congregation needs on music,movies,dating and grooming. You take brown noses and promote them and demote them at your whim. You are the policeman at weddings,parties and all other events.
How many members have moved to another congregation because of your dictatorship? How about the time you had a special talk on not bringing books and toys to the meeting for small children and than seeing your children doing the same? How many times do you pass me by and not greet me because I'm inactive? How about the time you came to my house with the Circuit Overseer and told me you loved me in the congregation just to show him how loving you were? I should have called you a liar in front of him!
Go ahead and keep on avoiding me when you see me around! All I know is that all the work you do for the WTS is free and all on your time. There will never be a ''new world'' and you were a fool for believing in it all along!

We all believe that the house to house preaching work serves many purposes. It keeps members busy,distributes and sells literature,it screens new members,and counts service hours to separate who serves as a regular member,ministerial servant and elder. The whole purpose in not to find new members.
If that is the case,do you feel that the Ministry School and Service Meeting is used as a sham? Is the WTS pretending to teach about the Bible to its members and the general public just to get free tax exemptions? Is the WTS just a corporation that profits from the printing and selling of literature and purchasing and selling of property?

Our congregation was started in 1972 with a mere 13 members. It reached a peak of 86 members in 2000 and today it is down to less than 30.
Most of the new members (aside from the original 13) were either friends,family or children born into the religion. Also,there hasn't been a new member that was brought in from house to house preaching in over 10 years.

I dislike when people come knocking on my door ''cold calling'' with their sales pitch. Do you need a new roof? Do you want to donate to a local school so they can pay for a trip? Do you need a subscription to a newspaper or magazine? Do you want to buy candy or cookies?
I never purchase,donate or get free estimates from ''cold callers.'' I don't know these people or trust them. If I need something I'll call you!
What makes the WTS think that having members walking around ''dressed to kill'',offering a magazine or book, make householders open the door and start a Bible study from people that they have no prior personal relationship?
